This gorgeous old house got a modern refresh, with an indoor-outdoor seating area, children’s play area, BBQ pit and pool installation, creating a multitude of different options for the family and pets to enjoy. Quick-growing hedges have created privacy and the whole site requires minimal maintenance to keep it looking perfect.

Town House

This tired and overgrown townhouse garden in Remuera belonged to a dedicated doctor whose demanding schedule left little time for garden care. With her focus always on her patients, the outdoor space had become neglected and uninspiring.

Busy Lizzy Gardens stepped in to transform the garden into a tranquil retreat—a place where she could unwind after long night shifts. Carefully selected native plants were retained and complemented with new additions to enhance the sense of calm and connection to nature.

We built new retaining walls, installed timber decking, and added raised vegetable beds to blend function with beauty. The result is a serene and low-maintenance sanctuary—an oasis of peace and greenery for one of our community’s everyday heroes.
